That’s approximately 4,620 new cases per day and 1,630 deaths per day.”

I guess I had best explain the meaning of this blog title. There are so many words that end with “ATIONS” that go along with people’s fights against cancer.

DEVASTATIONS
Of course, cancer itself is one huge devastation, but, because SO many different aspects of cancer can devastate people, I am going to count each aspect as a separate factor. Many devastations are sure to follow any such diagnoses. Not only does the shock and awe of such sneak up, slap people in their faces, and warn them to be prepared to fight and, quite probably, be prepared to fight for the long haul, but the mere lengths of some of these struggles wear and tear on people’s psyches so much they cannot help, but bring different devastations to the lives of these people. These may arise due to the constant hair loss that results from either chemotherapy drugs or the many and necessary radiation (another almost “ations” word) treatments. There are many, many ways cancer can devastate people.

FRUSTRATIONS
Naturally, right along with these devastations go the sometimes synonymous, yet always burdensome frustrations. Looking in a mirror and realizing there are only patches where hair once was has to be frustrating. The energy draining effect upon the body must be frustrating.
